Samsung hosted its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event on July 9, live from Brooklyn, New York, unveiling a powerful lineup of foldables and wearables with enhanced AI capabilities. The spotlight was on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, a budget-friendly Flip 7 FE, and the premium Galaxy Watch 8 series. Here’s a full breakdown of everything Samsung announced, including features, prices, and availability.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: Ultra-Thin Foldable Redefined

Samsung kicked things off with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, their thinnest and lightest foldable yet. The Fold 7 measures just 8.9 mm when folded, and an ultra-slim 4.2 mm when unfolded, weighing only 215 grams — a significant improvement over previous models.

The device sports a 6.5-inch AMOLED cover screen and an expansive 8-inch inner Dynamic AMOLED display, both with high refresh rates and S-Pen support.

Under the hood, it’s powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, paired with up to 16 GB RAM and storage options ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB. The rear camera system includes a 200 MP primary sensor, backed by ultra-wide and telephoto lenses.

Battery capacity is 4,400 mAh, supported by 45W fast charging. The device runs on One UI 8, based on Android 16, and is infused with new Galaxy AI features including real-time translation, AI-generated summaries, smart multitasking, and photo editing.

Price: Starts at $1,999.99

Galaxy Z Flip 7: Bigger Cover Screen, Smarter AI

Next up, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Flip 7, continuing its trend of stylish and functional clamshell foldables. The Flip 7 features a 4.1-inch cover display, significantly larger and more useful than its predecessor.

This cover screen can now support full apps and AI features such as Now Brief, Gemini Live voice interaction, and Smart Reply suggestions. You can reply to messages, control music, or view your calendar without flipping the phone open.

Inside is a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Exynos 2500 processor, supported by 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage. The dual-camera setup includes a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide.

The battery is a solid 4,300 mAh, improved over previous Flip models, with fast charging support.

Price: Starts at $1,099.99

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Affordable Foldable for All

Samsung also introduced a budget-friendly foldable: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Designed to make foldables more accessible, the Flip 7 FE features a 3.2-inch external display, modest but functional for calls, music, and notifications.

Specs include Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage. It has a dual-camera system led by a 50 MP main sensor. Battery capacity is 4,000 mAh — respectable for an entry-level foldable.

Galaxy Watch 8 Series: Health Meets Intelligence

Samsung also announced the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, combining traditional watch aesthetics with modern tech. The Classic version reintroduces the rotating bezel, while both models sport 1.4-inch Super AMOLED displays and are powered by Wear OS with One UI Watch 8.

New health features include:

  • Sleep apnea detection
  • Skin temperature tracking
  • Upgraded heart rate sensor

Each watch includes 32 GB of internal storage, longer battery life (up to 2 days), and the new Gemini AI assistant. Voice-based tasks like replying to messages, managing your calendar, or translating languages are now available directly from your wrist.

Price: Starts at $399

Galaxy Watch Ultra: Built for Adventure

Samsung’s first rugged smartwatch — the Galaxy Watch Ultra — is designed for fitness enthusiasts, explorers, and outdoor professionals. It features a robust 47mm titanium case, dual-band GPS, and a 590 mAh battery offering up to 4 days of life.

The Ultra also includes:

  • 64 GB storage
  • Custom AI workout coaching
  • Emergency SOS and fall detection

Price: $649.99

Galaxy AI at the Core

One of the biggest themes of the event was the deeper integration of Galaxy AI across devices. All new foldables and watches now feature on-device AI tools to:

  • Generate notes, summaries, and translations
  • Edit photos with generative AI
  • Offer context-aware suggestions
  • Run voice interactions with Google Gemini

Samsung’s approach to AI is focused on privacy and speed — many features work without cloud processing.

Final Thoughts

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event marked a major step forward in foldable and wearable tech. The Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 deliver meaningful design and AI improvements, while the Watch 8 series positions Samsung as a leader in smart health tracking.

By expanding the foldable range with the Flip 7 FE and introducing AI-focused features across the ecosystem, Samsung is clearly setting the pace for Android in 2025.

Retail availability begins July 25.
